NHG Health Research Data Policy Version 3.0 Now in Effect

The updated policy strengthens NHG Health's research data governance framework and aligns with current regulatory requirements, organisational policies, and emerging technologies to support the responsible, secure, and ethical management of research data.

This policy will apply to employees, contract or temporary staff of NHG Health or anyone authorized by NHG Health involved in handling any NHG Health research data.

What's New in Version 3.0?

Key enhancements include:

  1. Research Data Classification
    Enhanced requirements for classifying research data based on sensitivity and risk profile.

  2. Research Data Access
    Strengthened controls for granting, reviewing, and managing access to research data.

  3. Use of Open Government Products (OGP)
    Expanded guidance on the use of approved OGP tools and platforms for research activities.

  4. Research Data Sharing and Transfers
    Updated requirements and workflows for data sharing, transfer, and re-identification activities.

  5. Data Breach Management
    Enhanced reporting, investigation, and response requirements for research data incidents.

  6. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI
    New guidance on the responsible, secure, and ethical use of AI and Generative AI in research.
